Cubs

Cubs meet on a Wednesday evening during term time, from 5:45 to 7:15. We enjoy a large range of activities, both indoors and outdoors, and try to go on 2 weekend camps as well as a longer summer camp each year. If you would like more information about us then click here to email the Section Leader.

Recent Events:

The run in to the summer holidays was dominated by the outdoors – we had our family barbecue at Birk Crag Guide Centre, completed our Athlete’s badge on the Stray and cycled round Duchy as part of our Cyclist badge. Our Summer Camp at Linnet Clough Scout Campsite at Marple, Cheshire was a fantastic event with our friends from 10th Harrogate (St Wilfrid’s) Cubs. Despite the poor weather, which at one point saw us flooded out of our tents, everyone had a great time. Highlights over the 5-days included climbing, archery and kayaking, as well as the trip out to Old Trafford football ground. All the Cubs want to know when we can go again!

Future Events:

The Autumn term sees us looking abroad with the Cubs tackling the Global Challenge badge, as well as making a lot of noise for their Communicator badge. We may have to work on those listening skills as well… We are also looking forward to the Mowgli Cup competition, and we have a weekend camp planned at Silverwood campsite, near Barnsley, with our friends from 1st Pannal Cubs, where I believe fun will be the order of the day!
