Guides meet every Thursday from 7.30pm, usually in the Church Hall (unless we’re off ice skating, swimming, having campfires or wide games etc). Girls aged 10 to 14 years are welcome to join.
We have a programme led by the girls themselves (anything from cooking and eating to drama, parties, art and crafts, dance and keep fit), but supported by qualified adult leaders. There are extra weekend activities available through Girlguiding, plus international trips and our annual camp. Team building and leadership skills are also encouraged.
Guide News:
Our latest contribution to the hospital at Lalgadh this term was £494. This was the sum of the Church Parade stalls, our weekly stalls at Brownies and Guides, and a generous donation. This is a fantastic amount. Many thanks to all of you who purchased items from the stall at Church Parade, and to the Guiders and Guides who give their enthusiasm to this brilliant charity.
If you would like to find out more about Lalgadh hospital, either I can give you a leaflet, or search for the Nepal Leprosy Trust on the internet. If anyone belongs to an organisation who would like a talk on the subject, please contact me on 01423 503475
