Guides meet every Thursday from 7.30pm, usually in the Church Hall (unless we’re off ice skating, swimming, having campfires or wide games etc). Girls aged 10 to 14 years are welcome to join.
We have a programme led by the girls themselves (anything from cooking and eating to drama, parties, art and crafts, dance and keep fit), but supported by qualified adult leaders. There are extra weekend activities available through Girlguiding, plus international trips and our annual camp. Team building and leadership skills are also encouraged.
We are currently raising money for a hospital in South Nepal which provides a range of facilities for the local people. Any support with this would be very welcome.
Quotes from the girls
it’s fantastic - brilliant – be with happy people – entertaining – Guides is the best in the world – very fun and funny – new things every week - the perfect place to get together and make friends – you can join now, but get in quick …
What are you waiting for?

Many thanks from the Guides
The Bring and Buy stall at Church Parade raised £370. With the money from the previous two Church Parades that makes £1000 for the Lalgadh Service Centre in Nepal over the last year. This is a fantastic amount so well done to all those who helped by bringing items to buy or sell and those who gave donations. The money will be used towards new facilities at the hospital.
The ‘Guess the number of sweets’ competition was won by Ellen Young. There were 433 sweets!
The Guides will have a stall until Christmas selling cards etc before and after their meeting on Thursday evenings to try and push the total a little further.
Many thanks for all your help.
