WASPS
Walkers at St. Paul's

Despite forecasts to the contrary, the weather proved kind to us for our circular of Pateley Bridge on the 8th of June and a great walk with spectacular views was enjoyed by all.
As previously announced, the East Coast walk, originally scheduled for June, will now take place on Tuesday 6th July. This will be along the cliff tops at Flamborough, where we hope some puffins will still be nesting. lt is just over 6 miles and includes a couple of sharp descents/ ascents at inlets. We will be meeting at Beacon Farm at 10.30am. Go- ing into Flamborough on the 81255 turn right into West Street and fol- low the road down to the end. Beacon Farm is ahead of you with park- ing by the roadside. Allow 2 hours from Harrogate and bring a lunch- time snack.
On Saturday 24lh July, we shall be completing a 'sutton Bank Circular' comprising a walk of about 7 miles and linking two sections of the Cleveland Way with fine views of the surrounding countryside. We will meet at the car park at the top of Sutton Bank at 10.00am.
Appletreewick is the starting point for our outing on Thursday igth August. We shall be meeting in the village at 1Oam and then undertake a circular route of approximately 7 miles, strolling first along the banks of the river Wharfe into Howgill and subsequently passing Parceval Hall and Trollers' Gill (the site of the Barguest beast legend!).
Let's hope the sun shines for us.
